It’s 4 layers with a caramel glaze on the top and several pieces of thin, flaked chocolate as decoration in the center. I think I’ prefer the fruit, frankly, but it was not an option.
I finally made it to the office for a piece of my own cake. Apparently it was a hit. I cut it into 12 slices and there were only 5 staff there today. There was only 1/3 of the cake left when I got there. But I still had a chance at 2 pieces.
OMG! Was it delicious. Almost like a Tiramisu, but without chocolate (except for that garnish on top. Moist, delicate, heavenly. If you have a Costco nearby, try it. Or, try one of the many recipes that are on the Web.
My husband had wanted me to buy a carrot cake with those fakey frosting carrots on top. I ALWAYS have carrot cake (and I make a better one than any bakery) so I opted for something different. I’m glad I did.
