I occasionally shoot faster than deer hunting, but surely not nearly once per second! :-)
I think I’m going to give the adhesive a try... it seems like a no-lose situation. If it doesn’t hold up well, I’ll either have the front sight brazed or I’ll scrap it and keep the bead.
As a side note: in its pre-A1 configuration the 590 was sold and used as-is, with a bead sight, as a combat and LE shotgun. Other than shooting slugs at 50+ yds, a good bead sight may very well be adequate. Target acquisition is definitely very good with just the bead. That’s part of my quandary; I’m hesitant to do anything permanent (like brazing) that renders the bead useless, UNTIL I have some experience with the GR.
