Last week Friday, I took a few shots at 300 yards with my new SOCOM rifle. Results were fair. I need to work on my technique.
It didn’t help that the sling got loose after about 8 shots, but being relatively inexperienced in long range rife shooting, that’s to be expected. Shot prone, open sights.
Couple of 10s, a 9 or two, couple of 8s, 7s, and a few misses. Sighting in was part of the experience, so I do have that excuse! :)
You gotta break-in the barrel before it will start shootin’ real good. ;-)
Practice + technique + ammo = much better results. Since it’s sighted-in now, next time will be much more pleasing. Post a pic of your best target here.
