It’s legal and fairly standard.

It is how campaign managers make their money.

I think Rove did the same thing. I think it is pretty standard, for campaign management, in both parties.

They create legal entities, companies, and run various aspects of campaigns through them.

The campaign laws are written so people can get rich. Anthony Wiener ran for mayor because he had 4 million in campaign funds and that was the only way to access them. You can do almost anything in a campaign.

Don't know if it's legal, but it certainly helps explain why the current occupant of the oval office continues to spend so much time at campaign fundraising events.
