Really having issues. My insurance is waiting on information from the hospital and so far, that has failed to show up. They have denied the charges and are anticipating sending me a bill for the nearly 4 days of stay. The peer to peer with the insurance doctor has produced a bunch of discrepancies in information. The doctor that was treating me was saying things to me and the doctor that was on the other end of the line is saying she was saying different things. It’s a mess and I’m not happy. I have to call the hospital and confront the doctor and get her to tell me what she truly was saying and then get her to contact the insurance with the truth. This is crazy, and Obama care hasn’t even kicked in yet :(
Saw my PCP yesterday. She did a reaction test on my legs using a broken tongue depresser. There was no reaction from my legs, yet when she put the same pressure to my arms, I jumped to move my arms away from the poking tool. She is comfortable in making a recommendation that I should be placed in a rehab center until I am walking again. She is going to get my home health team and try to get my surgeon to join her in this attempt. Her comment was “Paralysis is definitely a good reason to have in-patient rehab”.
I’m also trying to get an injection from my surgeon to battle the swelling and see if we can get my nerves to quit binding my legs. He has agreed that is a good idea and is trying to get authorization from my insurance to do it. Just got a call from the office while I was typing this...they have the shot scheduled, but have not got the authorization yet...so it will probably have to be done another week out...so instead of the 7th, it will be on the 14th. Praying they can get it done sooner, rather than later.
