I was going to suggest an organization I found out about there on the coast, but I suppose you’ve tried all the agencies at 211, and I believe this one was on their list. It looked like a possibility, because their stated goal is feeding the hungry, but I just don’t know what to think about any of them now.
Yes, as soon as you’re able to drive, that will be the best thing. You can cook your meals much more cheaply, as you know.
It seems as if voluntarism is gone, though, if frozen meals is the best they can do for shut-ins. That’s sad.
Not to mention, I got a call from my church today. I left messages on all 3 pastor’s phones asking for a ride to the store. One of them called me back late in the day, but at least he called me back. The one who called me today said I was taking advantage of them for asking them for a ride to the store...I decided if the church is going to be that petty about me asking for a ride...I don’t want to belong to that sort of church! GOODBYE former church :(
