I remember when my older sister came to the breakfast table wearing a micro mini. She was a sophomore in highschool. It was one of those dresses that came with the panties that matched. Anyway my dad looked at her and told her to “bend over.” She say.why? He said well if you are going to show it to everybody else you might as well show me first. She turned beet red and promptly went back upstairs and changed into something more appropriate.

By the way my dad would have never let her go to school dressed like that. I will never forget that.

That story made me laugh!
As a middle school principal, we’ll see some pretty interesting clothing come through the school. However, shorts, and skirts MUST be at least fingertip length or the student has to call for appropriate clothing. No bare bellies, tank tops or any other sort of skimpy clothing is allowed either.

As a parent of two high school daughters, I can tell you we don’t buy this type of clothing for them, but kids will buy some of their own or borrow from friends. Mine don’t even think of wearing it to school though since I’m in the same building. (Grade 6-12 building)
