Big difference in a girl running around in men’s boxer shorts as opposed to wearing Daisy Dukes. I doubt the boys were having evil thoughts because of your boxers.

Yes, that is short, but it isn’t immodest if one considers what is worn on a beach. This father has my sympathy, given what is deemed appropriate in our society today.
That story made me laugh!
As a middle school principal, we’ll see some pretty interesting clothing come through the school. However, shorts, and skirts MUST be at least fingertip length or the student has to call for appropriate clothing. No bare bellies, tank tops or any other sort of skimpy clothing is allowed either.
As a parent of two high school daughters, I can tell you we don’t buy this type of clothing for them, but kids will buy some of their own or borrow from friends. Mine don’t even think of wearing it to school though since I’m in the same building. (Grade 6-12 building)
I know with our girls...we've bought shorts that are only to be worn at the beach or pool (over their swimming suits). If they wanted to wear them elsewhere, the answer would be "no". Maybe that's what happened here.
What happened to parents of today...?

My children (six) of them would have NEVER told me NO....That simply was not going to happen with out serious consequences... if they did it only happened once...
Dad is a freaking wuss...little miss princess would be left home without use of her phone, Ipad, computer...to starve...and sulk....she also would have been grounded for at at least a couple of days...grounded meaning "in your room" denuded of anything tech...until you figure out how to get rid of that crappy attitude...
My friends do not think so, my kids love me.
My parents taught me not to sass them and I taught mine not to sass me.
Of course today that is no longer taught.
Respect is something missing today. I had it , my kids have it. My Grand kids have it.
If that makes me a miserable person I am proud of it.
Yes, it was his goal that his daughter not wear inappropriate clothing. But, his larger goal was for her to learn by her own experience - not by compulsory force.
The older kids get, the more important it is that they have learned to make good choices with an understanding of why they are doing it. A parent won't always be around to force a child to make the right choice, and it is better, in my opinion, to help them learn when the opportunity is there.
Force and enforcement still has a more limited place in raising kids, but a wise parent exercises influence without force when it is feasible and possible to do so, IMHO.
Plus, I expect that this girl knows that her Dad's primary motivation is love for her, even though peer pressure/the desire for her peers' approval is very high.
She bought it with her babysitting money. When I started earning my money babysitting I bought my own clothes. But my parents still had a say about it. But they were a little more relaxed about it. That one must have slipped by them. We still laugh about it.
Um its a shirt it never beat a wife . just like a gun never shot anyone.
