I have a Mossberg 12-gage pump.
I have plans to look into a semi-auto rifle as well. Not sure how the upcoming restrictions will affect them, but I definitely have to look into it.

Just a thought, pump action rifles are almost as fast as semi auto, and fly under the radar, Oh So Well.
Years ago, a South African firm offered an AK47 look alike in pump action. VERY sweet weapon. It performed better than the real AK, used the same hardware, but wasn't considered a "threat" because of its "manual" action.
Don't know if they are still available. Just some food for thought.
