Sheriff Chris Prine in Lowndes County has previously said he suspected Johnson became trapped while trying to retrieve a shoe that fell into the center of the large rolled mat. The presence of a shoe at the bottom of the rolled up mat...presumably out of the victims reach...would bear this out. The article does not specify.
