VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — A golfer and a teen were caught on camera in the middle of a brawl at a country club in Victorville earlier this week.

The video, which has been posted online, shows an adult golfer throwing a young boy to the ground and forcing him into a headlock at Spring Valley Lake Country Club.

At one point, five men can be seen standing around while the teen is tackled.

Bryan Price told KCAL9’s Adrianna Weingold that he took out his cellphone and started rolling when the fight broke out Tuesday.

“I was shocked. I wanted to jump on (the older man) and hit him so bad, but I thought if I (took video), it’d probably go farther,” he said.

Price said the golfer was angry because the teens were riding their bikes through the golf course, so he took his friend’s bike.

“The older man had let (the bike) down, and pushed (my friend) in the bushes, and started throwing punches at him,” he said.

Art Lozano said his son saw the whole incident unfold.

“An adult doesn’t touch a kid that’s 14 years old. That’s wrong,” he said.

Several club members said the teens regularly ride through the course, bothering golfers.

Byron Smith, who knows the golfer in the video, said the man took the bike because the teen was trespassing and he was trying to hold him until security came.

“The kid started swinging the bike around and he punched one of the members in the back of the head. Then it turned into a physical thing,” he said.

The boys were cited for trespassing since they were on private property.

As for the golfer involved in the assault, sheriff’s said the investigation is ongoing and they haven’t identified him just yet.

My kids are doing very well in sports - it’s great stuff for kids and we should always support learning teamwork and sportsmanship. I just hope that they learn better than beating some younger person up because they committed the crime of riding his bike across a golf course.

I’m not against sports - I’m just against grown men using them as an excuse for crummy behavior.

Anyway, thanks for the nice thoughts about our service..
