At least one of them was completely white. My problem with this story is that a few miles away in Jersey City, the news here was all abuzz a few months ago about a black student running for student president of a Catholic high school receiving racist texts. It was just discovered to be a hoax (he sent them to himself), and the low-info voter news outlets (TV) haven’t even mentioned it/amended their story. He has left the school, no word if he will be prosecuted, the standard routine for bogus hate crimes, but this was Big News when it originally happened.
After giving us daily warnings about black rapists on the loose in NYC, the local and national media just wanted to have a Good Black People story (and I’m glad these college students did the right thing, but many would have the same expectations if they were all white).
