Most stadiums have a policy of chasing the trespassers rather than tackling them, unless they try to commit some kind of felony. Then they will arrest.
Incidentally the flag burners were acquitted of charges.

From what I've read on the web William Thomas was found guilty, fined $60.00, spent three days in jail and received one year of probation and the son, who was 11, wasn't prosecuted.
