A father’s achy breaky heart
And no, I’m not ridiculing the man. I bet lots of Hollyweird parents feel this way, in spite of the extent to which they helped create the situation.

she was a minor then. Some one signed a consent to allow her to work, Billy. And your one hit wonder career was a reason to promote your child to enhance your sagging career.

Billy, you used your own daughter all those years and did a crap job at giving her guidance, and all you’re doing is blaming everyone else for your own failures.
Of course Disney uses people. They are an entertainment company. As a parent it was your job to shield her, to say no to stuff if it wasn’t in her best interest, and to WALK AWAY if that’s what it meant for the better of her, and the family.
You didn’t.

Before you go punching Billy Ray in the chops, pause. Raising kids is not easy, and raising kids in show biz is like trying to write a letter in a hurricane.
Should he have been more protective and careful? Yes. Do most dads learn this after the fact? Yes again.

I’m not saying the Cyruses couldn’t have been wiser ... but parents can do everything “right” and still have their children go off the deep end as young adults. I feel bad for them, and I pray I never see one of my daughters acting like Miley Cyrus.

Earth to Billy Ray: Sorry, old man, but your inability to be a father is what destroyed your family.
