Robinette or Robinett is an old American surname dating back to at least 1682. There was a Fort Robinett or Battery Robinett, a Union fortification, which figured in the Second Battle of Corinth in 1862, apparently named for Major Henry Robinett, who at one point was on Grant’s staff (but committed suicide in 1868).
There was a big controversy over this in the fifth century. Nestorius, the Patriarch of Constantinople, objected to the popular phrase “Mother of God” and said that “Mother of Christ” would be a better way to refer to Mary. He was removed from his position and exiled to a monastery in the Egyptian desert.
