Most high functioning autistic and AS people can take care of themselves. The more severely affected sadly will wind up being housed in institutions.
I don’t think their is really an increase in the people affected with Autism, it’s a spectral disease. I just think we now recognize that people with a “flat affect”, or lack of emotion are on the spectral line.
