This One Map Shows How Americans Really Feel About Each Other
Business Insider ^ | 08/22/2013 | Walter Hickey

Yesterday we published a set of maps that came from a survey about what Americans think of other states.

Essentially, each respondent was asked to answer a question with a state that wasn't their own, like which state is the drunkest, the nicest, the most arrogant.

We looked at the data and decided to compress the 22 maps into one map.

US STATES MAP

On this map, every state that won a superlative — first place in any question — has its claims to fame in bolded print. For instance, Colorado was the top vote getter in the Most Beautiful scenery category.

The survey must have been taken from a group of coastal libtards who’ve never been to Alabama but assume everyone there is stupid, inbred, and missing most of their teeth.

Oh thank you! I have no idea how to post photographs or I would have done some of my own. I have been thinking we need to take them to the Hocking Hills and other spots in the southeastern part of the state. She really needs to get out more.
We are headed to Amish country tomorrow evening, with camera in hand.

If they kick ya’ll out can Alabama come with you?

Only if you promise to bring Lynyrd Skynrd along with you.

Visited my children who live in Ohio. My daughter lives in German village and my son lives just south of Columbus. I was speechless while we roadtripped through Amish country. BEAUTIFUL. Red, White, and Boom on a 4th of July left me with tears. While maybe not perfect, Ohio seemed the America of my youth, alive and well. Oh, I live in SoCal hence the amazement at the difference.

Arizona is listed as “worst scenery” ? I guess the idiot who put this together never heard of the Grand Canyon, the painted desert, the Sedona sandstone cliffs, etc.

So “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is pretty close to the truth then?

The painted desert is one of the most interesting places that I’ve visited. I remember finding slabs of mica the width of my hand. I also love the grey/purple manganese layers alternating with the iron red.

Arizona also has some of the finest Route 66 locales of any state.

Let's face it, the idiot(s) who put this together just don't leave their parents' basement.

There are folks on this forum who have taken to the use of 'Amish' to refer to a certain group of Americans.

I was thinking images of urban Amish might not be so scenic. :>)

Ah yes, that kind of Amish, some of that isn’t too far away. But real Amish is an oasis. The quiet is astounding. The restaurants don’t play music, for instance. The only time you hear “urban music” is a young kid listening to the radio with the car windows rolled down, and even that is rare.
The Amish influence is so strong, everyone has a better attitude there.

Liberals believe everyone in the South are nothing but beer drinking, drunken, wife beating, cousin kissing, inbred redneck that do nothing but watch NASCAR and do stupid tricks with cars. We have a few on FR that think this way; rockrr, donmeaker, EOE, etc.

So, what's your point?

He asked if Alabama could join us, and I told him my conditions.

:-)
