I can’t believe the police did that. That makes me smile, definitely not something I would have expected. I love how people seem to settle on a certain favorite type of dog, for me it’s shepherds all the way. I am not certain that I’ve ever had the opportunity to meet a Basset Hound before.
But as far as I know, Isis’s last pup, a male german shepherd was still up for adoption at the time I adopted Isis and was at the same house of the lady who runs the rescue outfit.
I might have adopted it too, but actually I did prefer a dog a bit older than a pup, because pups are a handful. Also, she needed a home. She did not look the best when I got her, and I have no doubt the pup will find a home, people always want pups.
It made me feel good to adopt a dog that may have been harder to find a home for at that time. I think she would have find a home easily now, because she is just gorgeous.
I love happy endings! I adopted 2 bassets that were put into a rescue by a friend who was doing an assignment in Singapore and could not take them. He came into my office heartbroken about having to give them up. I had just lost a dog and was thinking about adopting another and I said, “where are they???!!!”
Never had any experience with bassets. They were ridiculous dogs, made us laugh every day at their antics. And don’t ever let their stature foold you, they want something they will figure out a way to get it.
