You live in a bustling region. There is new development and lots of people moving in and out.

Back home for me, not so much. People stay rooted and live in the same homes for a long time. So the effects of the one-time de facto segregation still are apparent.

My county is about 2% black.

True - the energy business brings a lot of people to this area - and no one with any sense would move here and CHOOSE to live inside the ghetto called houston. The suburbs are so much nicer and worth the drive if they have to work downtown.

I was pointing out that the author of this piece was apparently raised in an all white neighborhood and thought blacks were bad people (I believe that is what he said) - so his big realization that they are humans (some good, some bad like all humans) caused him to declare that all whites live like that - or are raised like him. Typical liberal behavior to impose his own faults or misconceptions on everyone else to deflect his own sense of guilt.
