Entercom Communications, whose WRKO and WEEI stations in the Boston markets have been the radio home for the Boston Celtics since 2005, will no longer broadcast the storied NBA franchise's games beginning next season...It's uncertain at this time which station will carry the Celtics games in the 2013-14 season.

Options limited. CBS has the Sports Hub WBZ-FM 98.5, which already has Bruins and Patriots (if there are game conflicts it's possible one team could be bumped to the likes of WZLX 100.7 or even WBZ 1030). WUFC 1510 has local and national sports including Red Sox in Spanish. Not the best signal (though I think there's a C's radio network?)...

Some station carrying the AFN (Athletic Felon’s Network) will carry the games.

If there is a big enough market for it, a station will carry it

The freight on the Celtics is high, and who actually listens to Celtics games on the radio? Not Lexus buyers.

I used to listen to Celtic's games many years ago when Johnny Most was the announcer. The greatest homer ever. However, Tommy Heinsohn gives him a run for the money. But nobody could match Most's voice. The growliest, scratchiest, hoarsest sounding one I've ever heard on a sports announcer.

p.s. Does Eddie Andelman still do the Sports Huddle show?

Howie Carr said “you know” 37 times in less than four minutes today. Great radio host but his “you knows” give Teddy K's “ums” a run for the money.

My interest in the NBA stopped when Bird,Parrish,McHale and DJ became history. That was the end of a beautiful time for basketball.

Andleman retired though his sons do a TV
show about restaurants. WEEI has played
a clip of a passionate Heinsohn: “They’re
gonna call it a hard foul. They’re gonna
call it a hard foul?!?!? THESE people are
RIDICULOUS!”

WEEI had Sean Grande and Cedric Maxwell
doing games. Some wonder if C’s will just
buy time on a station and have them
simulcast the audio from Comcast
Sports cable’s game broadcast...we’ll see

They are going to suck next year. No one will be listening past the middle of December.
