Now I'm getting "Website Cannot Display the Page" when I go to post a comment. Then I go back and hit "post" again....and, voila!....this time it posts, but then I find the first one had posted also....so I get the embarrassing ole double post gremlin.

Think I'll go read for a while.

That is a bald-faced lie. Where is your proof? Who told you that, or did you just pull it out of your butt?

The truncated posts are the result of denial of service attacks, and they happen most frequently on Sundays during the FReepathon (not freeperthon, dipstick).

How dare you impugn Jim Robinson's honesty and integrity. You aren't fit to be a FReeper, let alone criticize this site or its owner.

I suffered similar symptoms this morning from about 0300-0500 PST. The Main Page missed the typical right hand column with other favorite category links (i.e. Everything, Smokey Backroom, Religion, ...) and while my personal edits would typically allow either 25 or 50 posts per page, the report of latest posts would not complete, nor would the bottom footing ever display. Regeneration of the page request would repeat the same error, appearing to display the latest 50 hits, but instead sometimes only return 11, or 14 or sometimes 19 of the latest posts, but still not display the normal footer of the Main page with the Browse/Ping/Post commands.

Similar symptoms occurred if one selected a thread. The thread would be retrieved, but only the first 10-19 posts displayed and the dump would cease in mid stream in any particular post. When regenerated for the same command, the same symptom, just a different quantity of bytes delivered and never sufficient to view the footer.

Now this appears corrected, although when one originally sends the http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/news-forum/index command to the browser, a blank white screen is returned. When repeated, the regular FR website index page appears as though normal.
