I would see Sherlock, my golden retriever, at the foot of my bed, curled up in his normal sleeping position, in the middle of the night, for a week after his death. Heartbreaking.

I had to put my lab down last Feb. She had been deaf for for 2 years and then went blind with a rare eye disease. She went blind in 3 days, but with her problem some dogs go blind within hours. She learned to walk the walls to find the bedroom and always found her food. We use to go for walks around my property as she was use to our walks and knew where the path turned etc. Every now and then I feel her head on my lap when I am on the computer, I reach out and scratch her behind her ears and the feeling of her head on my lap goes away...She is still with her, I can sense her spirit....call me crazy, but thats what happens... before she had to be put down the only thing she had trouble with was stairs...she learned to put her paw at the edge of the step with her nails not touching the step and then knew when to step down....she was a genius...GG
