Addiction implies it was out of her control to put alcohol in her mouth. Do you really believe that?

People use alcohol as a crutch, as a numbing agent, as a feel good substance, as a way to not think about disturbing thoughts.

But addiction implies there is no choice.

I can only speculate — but many times alcohol addicts have underlying psychological issues for which they seek to self-medicate using booze.

No it doesn't, "addiction" means one doesn't have the self control to separate themselves from the addicted substance.......
