Not a dumb question at all

IIRC this app relies on your friendly neighborhood snitch posting the names & addresses of those he/she thinks have guns in their house. It is more of a website database than a software.

The “inventor” is already backing away from his brainchild as he did not realize how many informed & e-aware gun rights supporters are out there. Gun rights sites are already suggesting ways for supporters to post names/addresses of gungrabbers, liberals, & other enemies of the Second Amendment.

Apparently this app has no spoofing filter or quality control and is infinitely corruptible. The ancient data processing adage applies here:

“Garbage in, garbage out”

So... theoretically, if you enter the names & addresses of everyone in your town, the town’s crime rate should go down. If a potential gun thief has to worry about the gun owning neighbor of the house he wants to rob, he would target the next town over.

And applying that little theory on a larger scale, I wonder how long it would take to enter every Texas household into that app...

:-)
