Can gay service personnel be blackmailed today? If I leak that your gay it has very little impact nowadays?
30 years ago this was a major liability. Today?

Look at J. Edgar Hoover for crissakes!
Mr. “G” (Government)man himself turned out to be:

Mr. “G” (Gay, trans-dresser) man/woman!

He was very disturbed but served his country well for most of the years he was in power albeit with tons of abuses.

I actually think you can be blackmailed today, if you were to be gay in the Army.

You see, after all of the studies performed, political debates, organizations of gay ex-military....after all that, one thing still holds true:

There are probably less than 100 people in the military, who desire to be openly gay. That’s the little secret - gay people in the military LIKED DADT....activists who would never consider serving didn’t like it, but they didn’t have to worry about the consequences of being gay in the military.

The military is unlike a normal job - and you may sleep together, bath together, pull ticks off of each others crotch...etc. So Its not like having the gay guy a few cubicles over...its a lot more up close and personal. And frankly, most gay men would be shunned in the Army (or worse).

So yes, it is absolutely a blackmailable condition.

And we haven’t even talked about little Johnny being away from home for the first time, and his parents, friends, pastor, etc. back home don’t know about his Studio 64 lifestyle. Very easy to blackmail...even today. You see, despite what we might see in sit-coms and the media, gay really isn’t that popular.
