How did 3% of the population get to dominate the cultural agenda?

I watch very little tv, and I mean very little, so perhaps I've missed it, but, aside from Hannibal Lecter, has a homosexual ever been portrayed as a villain in any modern tv show or movie?

2%.

I haven’t watched TV since the Klinton hearings. I had TV for 2 years around that time. The only time I’ve had it in my entire adult life; except for 6 months when my kids were small, they got to see Mt St. Helens erupt.

Other than that - nada.

Because that 3% owns, writes, produces and directs nearly everything that makes up the "cultural agenda:" movies, TV, music, huge chunks of the news media, etc. It's also very active in philanthropic foundations, deciding who gets what money for what "cultural" projects; and in dozens of NGOs, the ACLU and on and on. It's basically stuff conservatives are not interested in and pay no attention to. That's a mistake.
