Agreed, my wife and I raised 5 kids too, with no Baby monitor. My opinion, for what it is worth: “If you are using a Baby monitor, you are not paying enough attention to your children”.

We’re any of the kids you raised disabled? This little girl is disabled and has had surgery. I think her parents did well to keep a monitor on her in case she had a problem.

We had a child with some health issues. If she had become ill in the middle of the night, I could not have heard her just due to the acoustics of the house. Yes, we used a monitor. No camera, though; I’m not sure they had those back then. These devices have their uses.
