He can apply for reinstatement according to the document he signed. He can’t take it to court though. I would think the commissioners office has a mountain of evidence that was never publicly released that convinced him to sign

Giamatti HAD a mountain of evidence on Rose. Betting slips with his fingerprints on them, phone records from the Reds clubhouse to the bookies, checks written to the bookies, etc.

Being a big baseball fan, Giamatti certainly wouldn't kick the hit king out of baseball, nor would Pete agree to the ban, if there wasn't solid evidence.

Rose didn't make a peep.

If he thought he could get away with it, I'm sure he would have had his lawyers give it a try.

But he didn't. And that speaks volumes.

I've never heard that if Pete "confessed" that he wouldn't be banned.

That doesn't make sense.
