They treated the child as luggage and packed it in the car with their belongings. Had they bothered to take the time for periodic checks they may have discovered the child was in distress and then could have taken corrective action. But they didn't.

It is up to the parents to provide a safe environment for their child. They didn't, and I don't believe that was an accident.

We brought the new pup home in June and the AC flipped out during the 3+ hour ride back.

I held a big squirming, hot Dobe pup on my insufficient lap the whole way home just so I could keep her belly turned toward the AC vents in order for her to get as much of the cool air as was available.

We stopped frequently for cold water to soak towels in, as well.

And that’s just for a dog, mind you.

By law, in most jurisdictions the child has to be in a baby carrier and in the back seat (away from the killer passenger side airbag).

You want to hang them for following the law?

Proof, imho, we have too many damned laws. In the old days the kid would likely have been up front.
