I worked for a clothing company a few years ago. One of the places was at a DC (Distribution Center) for the eastern US. Think 350,000 ft^2 of four-story high shelves. Seriously *big* place.
I used to walk the DC on my lunch hour for exercise. One day, just for grins, I tried to find a carton, somewhere in the building, that had "Made in the USA" stamped on it.
No dice. But I did discover that 90%+ of the stuff in that massive building was stamped with "Made in Vietnam".
I can't imagine that it's changed much, or that it's much different for other clothing manufacturers. Someone in Vietnam is making money off our back-to-school sales. There's success to be found there, like it or not, I think.
That "someone" is a high up in the Communist Party.
