what is the carbon footprint of Burning Man? They burn a stick figure of a man there, spewing pollutants into the atmosphere. And they leave lots of trash behind. How are they being good liberals and good caretakers of mother earth, by staging this festival????

There’s no trash left behind, it isn’t one of those Rainbow Family gatherings. Pack it in, pack it out.

Are they libs or just hedonists?

At 650 bucks a ticket, there have to be some capitalists involved too LOL

They actually leave NO trash behind, AFAIK, they have been real anal retentive about making the place spotless so the BLM/forestry folks don’t get an excuse to can it.

I believe that their good stewardship is what was behind their allowed numbers to be increased this year.

No trash is left. Burners bring all their own water and food and they pack out all their waste. The “burning” part of the event is trivial as far as air quality impacts are concerned. A tremendous amount of the power needed on site is derived from wind and solar. The rest is batteries that are removed.

I know some burners and would like to attend myself someday even though certain aspects of the event don’t interest me. You create your own experience there.

If art is your thing, that’s what you get, if sex and drugs are your thing, that’s what you get.
