There are two extinction level events for the Republican party coming up in the next few months: Amnesty and the Defunding of Obamacare. We need to get together and put a stop to the GOPs drive towards suicide with an event that they and the Media cannot ignore. But, we need to establish some basic rules for these gatherings mainly that these events need to be on weekends and publicized enough to maximize attendance. There is nothing more frustrating to behold than an event lightly attended simply because it was on too short a notice and on a weekday ..
Is it too much to ask that we just decide to follow two simple rules on demonstrations on weekends or holidays and with at least 1 months notice? Lets face it, we dont have access to the government paid rent a mobs the left is able to muster at a moments notice. Most people on our side have productive day jobs and when a Demonstration is set for a weekday, it severely cuts down on who can attend.
A gathering of people on a weekend increases our numbers without too much effort Saturdays being more preferable. Most people need time to learn of an event and make plans to attend. When such events occur on a weekday when people are trying to be productive, its a double whammy in the PR department. If fact, having protest on a weekday with only a few days notice can have the opposite effect desired the leftists and the media (sorry to be redundant there) will play up any light attendance against us.
Now, with that out of the way, what can we plan to counteract the Republican partys headlong rush to oblivion? Anyone have any ideas as to a gatherings or series of gatherings to show the GOP we are displeased with their surrender mentality?
Target the RNC.
Its the policy making structure of the GOP and the one that takes the fewest votes to change. Unfortunately its consistently overlooked.
Dave Agema of Michigan is a solid conservative who was put on the RNC by a coalition of conservative republicans and tea partiers.
Yup they have to know that were getting POd out here with their incessant attempts at being Democratic Lite.
The two from PA who serve are part of the GOPe machine and don’t give a rip.
Those who profess to be really conservative are a minority on the state committee that elects these people.
Save the GOP/RNC??? Why the heck would we want to do that? It is a fascist and corrupt organization. It deserves to be destroyed and placed on the ash heap of history. “Save” the GOP, lol, got a good laugh out of that one dude.....
There was a rally by the pro-amnesty hired protesters here in Corpus Christi yesterday at Rep. Blake Farenthold’s office. The counter protesters outnumbered them 20 to 1. I was stuck on a job, but our side apparently were well behaved. One lady had a sign that said “I’m not being paid to be here” and kept getting into the picture when the TV cameras were on.
To affect things nationally, stuff has to happen locally.
Pray
Primary ever RINO or compromiser
Support conservative businesses who are political financers
Im not sure if I mean to say that Im for saving the GOP more like Im for saving freedom.
If the RINOs manage to do this to us, whether the party still exists will be irrelevant.
The Left seems to be able mobilize people to protest (could it be they are on the government dole?)
When we chose the circumstances for an event, we should do so with a mind toward maximizing our numbers to give ourselves a fighting (rhetorically speaking) chance.
I suggest the OP keep abreast of current events, There are numerous groups planning a March on D.C. on September 9th. More groups planning state level demonstrations on September 17th. And there is a coalition of groups doing Overpass Protests all over American which are suppose to culminate in and around D.C. on September 9th.
Contact me and I’ll get you or anyone else in touch ...
Well,I am heading to the State GOP Platform Convention
right now...if you are not involved at the local level do NOT complain.
Also...when your congresscritters do NOT hold legit Townhalls...organize them yourselves...put a pic of them in chair and then let ppl take to the mic and ask ??? Or make 1 min stmts...record it and send it to their office
So what will Conservatives advocate once they get rid of Obamacare? and immigrants? Sounds kind of empty.
Hopefully, the bigger names will be on hand to help out when they can.
Even if you can't get known names to speak, always have something fun/interesting for the people to do. Don't make it just all speakers, all day.
Think outside the box here. i.e. Have some kind of "Know Your Constitution " or, "Is this legislation Constitutional?" type of game. Offer prizes (gas/grocery coupons/other things). Teach people while informing them of what D.C. is up to, and why we must hold our politicians to these principals.
Hold the event in an interesting place. (The Reagan Library comes to mind for Ca or possibly have something at the county fairs? Maybe having something in a big park? (fill in your ideas____________).
Consider having something for the kiddies to do. I.e. It doesn't cost that much to rent a bounce house (just make sure you tie it down if it's windy, or might become windy).
You could have face painters, or maybe just have some kind of activities, games, planned for kids.
I say this because so many are working longer hours in today's wonderful(/s) economy, and babysitters can be a luxury they may not be able to afford.
People's time and money are at a premium. Keep this in mind when planning.
IMHO It's best to aim for holding family friendly events that are both informative and fun.
You could start with an outreach to the local churches in your areas.
Another important point is to watch out that events are not overlapping.
If you have 2,3, or more separate people planning something, and they live in close proximity to each other-they should get together and combine their plans into one single event. Chances for a big turn out increase this way.
Take as much time as you need to plan (even if this takes more than a month.)
The more time you spend on planning what your event will be , what message are you trying to get across? how will you present it ? exc... the better.
Also DON'T FORGET TO TAKE VIDEO/PHOTO'S to share with everyone.
Just my 2 cents.
I agree that we need to organize rallies. But my observation is that conservative rallies get less media coverage when they happen on weekends. Please chime in if you have different views on this.
I attended the Audit the IRS rally in DC on June 19. Due to other obligations, I couldn’t leave Atlanta until the evening of June 18.
I drove all night and arrived in DC at about 8am the next day. The rally was planned to start at noon the same day. I had reserved a hotel room in Alexandria for June 19 and luckily they were able to do early check in.
I was able to shower and catch the Metro for Capitol Hill for the rally and arrived before it started.
I was worried that I’d be too tired for the rally but the energy of the thousands of rally goers (and plenty of coffee) kept me going until I returned to the hotel in the evening (I actually did some sightseeing after the rally).
And I’m 55yo. Weekday rallies can be done if there’s advanced planning.
Every time I get a fund raising request from them or from any other squishy GOP I send it back with a resounding NO, and a letter. Defund the RNC and send your money to local conservatives up for the fight.
I’m a small business guy and work 7 days a week so I have no time to do anything but donate. And donate we do but never to the RNC or GOP.
You can send your money to local conservatives you want. The RNC still controls policy and has the power to crush your candidate that way.
It took less than 1000 dedicated people to vote for our conservative committeeman in Michigan. If other states can’t get a thousand or so conservatives to state conventions then they might as well just stay home and give it all to the democrats.
Very good!
Keep me apprised.
The complain that we cannot win, that the odds are against us but theyve been that way many time before and liberty has prevailed.
If the elite doesnt want to win, well just have to drag them along when we do.
right now...if you are not involved at the local level do NOT complain.
Yes, dont complain if you dont get involved.
The oppressive Democratic party is in it for the long haul, we have to be in it to win it (sorry for the cliché).
