This is a way too long hit piece on Damon, his mother, his wealth, etc. including a claim that Damon has campaigned against teachers' pay being pegged to children's test results:

Campaigned? When, where, who knows? A Google search yields 1,570,000 results; only the first 20 relate to this issue. Perhaps he said something about it to Jay Leno, Jeb Bush, or CNN, but not evidently to the Guardian, where it was alleged but not quoted, though there were plenty of other statements quoted.

“Does it matter. Jeb isn’t cheerleading the public schools like Damon.”

If Jeb is planning to run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016 as an education governor, it will matter.

It is difficult to understand what purpose Jeb is trying to serve by criticizing Damon for his hypocrisy. If Jeb is planning to run for President, better to criticize the ruinous policies of the man currently in office that give a progressive actor some notice by picking a fight.

Actions such as this make me wonder if Jeb is going to be like McCain and Romney, afraid to take on Obama and the Democrats directly and forcefully. If that is the case Jeb should just announce his candidacy and immediately concede to whoever the Democrats run in 2016.

Jeb won’t be running against Obama. He will probably be running against Hitlery. It is a better strategy to take her on.

Certainly better to take her or Obama on than Matt Damon.

Jeb’s son GeorgeP went to private school. I would imagine his siblings did as well. But I’ve never seen Jeb as the mouthpiece of teachers unions and/or as an advocate of pubic school only for everybody else.

Thanks Cringing Negativism Network.

Ew, Huffpo — but note how they didn’t clean up the transcript like Politico did:

Matt Damon: Obama ‘Broke Up With Me,’ George Zimmerman Is ‘A Novice’
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/09/matt-damon-obama-broke-up-with-me_n_3732426.html

[snip] “He broke up with me,” the “Elysium” star said. “There are a lot of things that I really question, you know: the legality of the drone strikes, and these NSA revelations they’re, you know, it’s like, they’re, you know, Jimmy Carter came out and said we don’t live in a democracy. That’s, that’s a little, that’s a little intense when an ex-president says that. So, you know, he’s got some, some explaining to do, particularly for a constitutional law professor.” [/snip]

[snip] Damon also ripped into Florida’s legal system, blasting George Zimmerman and the verdict in the trial over the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. “We have a police force for that, we should leave the novices at home,” he said. [/snip]

But both sources are carrying water in their own way:

Matt Damon: Obama ‘broke up with me’
http://www.politico.com/blogs/click/2013/08/matt-damon-obama-broke-up-with-me-170232.html

[snip] Obama is well aware that he hasn’t lived up to Damon’s expectations.

At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011, Obama joked, “Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw ‘The Adjustment Bureau,’ so right back atcha, buddy!” [/snip]

We have a petit tyrant and a petty actor having public hissy fits at each other?

Emphasis on "PETTY."  I'll get the popcorn.
