I defy you to find one post on the Internet where anyone felt sad for him that his now forgotten redhead fiancée died from Spanish Flu. No, everyone was glad she was as conveniently dead as Mr. Bates’ ex-wife because now it meant that Matthew and Lady Mary could fall into each others arms.

Right? So, next point: Dan Steven, the actor who played Matthew, left the show because he thought he had big shot star power and wanted to go on to other things. Unfortunately, he did a romantic movie that was just unwatchably lousy and then signed on to be a bad guy for an action thriller movie with Liam Neeson which is a danger close risk to being “pee-yew” in my opinion. His agent sucks, whoever it is. I wonder if he regrets leaving Downton Abbey.

Prediction: Look for a return of Matthew “Dreamboat” Crawley in Season 4 in ghost form like Obi -Wan Kenobi, probably in some of Lady Crawley’s dream sequences I bet. Cold opening episode where she’s rolling around in a field of flowers with him, then she wakes up.

lol, well I didn’t quite do what your wife did, my reaction was more along the lines of ‘what the heck did they do that for?’

I believe I came across an article which stated that the writer of the series is annoyed that they keep offing people and has demanded they stop! Or some such thing.

Your guess of a dream sequence makes sense, it will be interesting I’m quite sure :)
