I don’t work at DFW on a daily basis but my job involves visiting it on a weekly basis to check on the operation.
The new lanes are narrow but I drive a 1/2 pickup through them all of the time without any trouble so far but you better be watching what you’re doing. Once they are converted to auto-toll I think things should speed up considerably.
Sorry for your trouble and I’ve experience some long waits leaving the South side before as well. Extended waits are often due to someone who has neither cash nor card to pay the toll as they have to fill out paperwork, a promise to pay, etc. before they’ll be allowed through. My own boss has had to do this on multiple occasions of forgetting his wallet.
“You must not be native Texan. Honking down here get you in a heap of trouble.”
Agree 100%. We don’t honk the horn here. it’s not polite. It’s akin to sending someone the physical “finger.” I’ve visited NYC and people will lay on the horn for anything up there. I may get mad at a long wait but I don’t use the horn.
Such is life.
Then why is he your boss, if he is idiot enough to forget his wallet multiple times or not have a toll tag?
Anyway there is no excuse for a driver to wait 12 minutes to get through a toll plaza.
Maybe you all at the FAA should take competency in hospitality classes, rather than than the anger management classes that will be suggested I take on monday morning.
