Canapes are less than “a snack.” Sorry. I’ll go to the Library, now, and ask the dumbwaiter to bring me some dry and/or sweet white wine, some French *gasp* bread, some suitable cold meats, some appropriate cheeses, and a chinchilla fur to keep me warm in front of the fireplace, while I listen to the skirls of Sion’s pipes...

I was going to wear that chinchilla fur, but Kathleen got all excited because she thought it was a giant gerbil and wouldn’t stop screaming, “Mousie!” in my ear.
