It did. It flew out of Gary, Indiana airport to some golf resort on the east coast (Myrtle Beach, maybe?). THere were a dozen or so other airports involved. Amazingly enough, they folded after five years, maybe less. Ahhhh, those shorts....
Yes, Myrtle Beach.
To do some outdoor pretty-up for sale-make it look more like a house and less like a fort. I’ve decided on a realtor-a person who deals in just rural stuff only.
The big companies I talked to acted like they were doing me a f’in favor to list something “out there”, and wanted me to pay their workers to make the thing look manicured like it is in some la-de-da enclave in the city-I don’t think so...
i have no idea. the lines for DMV for adminstering drivers tests would be unfathomable. we went at noon on weds. there was not much of a line. the cop informed us almost immediately that their system was down state-wide, had been for 20 min, and could be back up in 10 min or 48 hrs they had no way to know. we figured we would give it a try, basically because i had never been that close to the head of a line at DMV before. We made friends with a couple of guys behind us in the line. one guy was clearly Persian, very americanized, nice looking, well to do etc, but with a slight accent. He was an engineer, but with daughters of driving age etc. So we talked about that. The other guy was a law student at GW! my alma mater, he had an undergrad degree from NYU and had just finished his first year at GW, had done premed first few years of undergrad, then switched bc he figured, as i had, that he wasn’t going to get into med school. So they were fun and made the time pass. But unfortuntely, bc she didn’t have the second form of ID, our short line wait was for naught, since we have to go back. this DMV is the best IMO, bc it’s located in Fair Oaks shopping mall. far less of the unsavory element there.
ha! they are going to make $ off of you, and they are doing YOU a favor? i don’t think so!
Well, all three of those were men, and pretended to be all sympathetic and helpful to what they assumed was a poor little widow-they also all run make ready/remodeling businesses on the side.
They retreated when I brought out my calculator and showed them the door-I lost my temper with the pushiest/greediest one and told him to stop letting his alligator mouth overload his hummingbird ass, because he had no idea what I do for a living. After that, I shopped only rural property brokers, and only women.
oh ok, so they were self-interested. good for you.
Are your cabinets being custom made? I’ve found it is actually less expensive to do that around here, unless someone is just so charmed with something off the rack that nothing else will do. Also, custom made means less cutting or shimming to get that perfect fit.
I’m hopefully having the same person make the same cabinets for my next house as did this one-I know it sounds boring, but when I find a style and price that works for me, I tend to stick with it-and I saved nearly $3000 over the price of the ones I liked at the home store that were just the same...
Anne Heche?
it's BASICALLY these, but with a warmer cherry type wood and with dark granite countertops. I like whatever that is with the lines up and down on the doors. cottage style or something? don't have the descriptive language. i want black wrought iron-like handles etc. and none of that glass display stuff, want closed cabinets.
And cameras for parking ;)
Dump the 300. You need a Harley ; )
i have cameras already, but no sonar. sonar is a nice plus. and xsteen’s Rav doesn’t have cameras and i do fine without them.
Those are nice looking.
Nice, but I think the larger panels, like in front of the sink need something to break up the monotony. Even a divider in the middle to make it look like two sections.
You will love those cabinets, I swear you will-
It is rustic style-and I love it-those are the same cabinets I have in my kitchen-except mine are knotty pine, and the pulls/handles are the rustic black wrought iron type. I first saw the style at Home Depot, too but the cabinet maker was able to make the same thing for less, with no loss of quality-but here, every other guy is either a welder who makes fences and ornamental stuff, or makes cabinets and furniture-even MrT5 did-so custom cabinets and stuff like that are very reasonable because it is a cottage industry.
I’m wanting to have the same cabinets made again for my nest. My counters are tile here, but I’ll decide on counter tops for the nest further down the road-it will be either granite solid surface I buy, or tile mosaic that I do myself, which is a very appealing idea, if time consuming.
I like those cabinets so much that I had the same ones made for the master bath here, too, with glass pulls, and a marble solid surface top with double shell sinks, but I may do something different there this next time...
well this is NOT the exact thing, i am just showing you the detail in the door, the cabinet configuration is going to be the same as what i currently have, and it has two doors opening out with a divider in the middle. i am just showing you door style in this pic, not color or configuration. this is far more modern than is my taste.
Something like that.
I understand. I meant that even with that big of a door, I would prefer to to look like something other than one big plain panel.
