The State Department is closing our embassies on Sunday because of terrorism threats. The roseate outlook about Obama and the Muslim world must have really taken a hit from Benghazi.

IRS and Regime are too cozy, it
Makes skeptics like me very nosy, it
Reeks of corruption
A sad interruption
Of a world where our outlook was roseate

Roseate

Professor, Rose, my dog, ate my homework. That’s why I have such a lame entry for Roseate.

In this morning’s roseate dawn a doe and her fawn were gamboling in the way back of my yard. Ever since I mowed over a baby with my Hustler, they won’t come near the house any more.

"Now when the child of morning, rosy-fingered Dawn, appeared, Telemachus rose and dressed himself. He bound his sandals on to his comely feet, girded his sword about his shoulder, and left his room looking like an immortal god. He at once sent the criers round to call the people in assembly, so they called them and the people gathered thereon; then, when they were got together, he went to the place of assembly spear in hand- not alone, for his two hounds went with him. Minerva endowed him with a presence of such divine comeliness that all marvelled at him as he went by, and when he took his place' in his father's seat even the oldest councillors made way for him."

I much prefer Homer's roseate versification to the halting, disjointed and maladroit locution of the Kenyan-in-Chief!

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

LOL A+++ My daughter landed from the west coast in DC last night. Her connecting flight was canceled and she was given a new one for Saturday night. She ended up renting a car to drive home and made it as far as Gettysburg last night. They are due here this morning. The annual flight home is becoming the trip from hell.

The annual flight home is becoming the trip from hell.

I haven't had a connecting flight canceled on my trips west -- YET -- but I have trouble with rental cars. The last time I flew into my home town (which requires a stop over in Phoenix) the plane was so late that there were no cars left. We arrived around midnight, all of the car rental places were closed, except ours, and they had no cars left because of some convention going on. We had to call my sister in law and beg to borrow her truck for a day until we got a car.

On the next trip we decided to fly directly to San Francisco, rent a car, and drive 200 miles south to the Valley. That time, our reserved car was also missing. Even though the "web" had said that the rental agency was in the airport, it was not. The shuttle was in the airport, and then you had to catch a bus to a remote lot 10 miles away. Naturally, there were no other car agencies in the vicinity, so we had to upgrade the car choice which doubled the price. Then they double charged us, and it was another cycle before we got our money back.

We are flying directly into our home town this time. Travel certainly isn't what it used to be!

Agent: I’m sorry, we have no mid-size available at the moment.

Jerry: I don’t understand, I made a reservation, do you have my reservation?

Agent: Yes, we do, unfortunately we ran out of cars.

Jerry: But the reservation keeps the car here. That’s why you have the reservation.

Agent: I know why we have reservations.

Jerry: I don’t think you do. If you did, I’d have a car. See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to *hold* the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody
can just take them.

The Rosate Spoonbill is a beautiful bird.

The Roseate Spoonbill is a gregarious wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family. It is a resident breeder in South America mostly east of the Andes, and in coastal regions of the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and the Gulf Coast of the United States.

Source.

I expect extra credit for the picture ☺

Well the conversations weren’t quite that civil, but you’ve got the idea. I’ve forgotten who we rented from last time, but they allowed us to pick any car on the lot. I chose a nice, shiny, red one so that I could find it in parking lots all week.
