I don’t know anything about him but he seems to be in any American movie with Japanese in it.
Another one is the guy who played Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman. Totally nonsense but still really entertaining to watch.

Shintaro Katsu? The pot smoking samurai. The best Japanese samurai series EVER is the "Hissatsu Shigoto-nin" series where you had people assassinating that bad guys with guitar wire and sharp flower stems.

Shintaro Katsu’s Zatoichi is the fantastic. I think I have watched eighteen of the 26 films. “Zatoichi meets Yojimbo” included Toshiro Mifune recreating his most famous character.
