I even like some of those frozen dinners. It sure is easy to do for one. I just checked my freezer and I have several good things in there to eat. Sometimes I forget to check the freezer....LOL! And occasionally something gets freezer burned and aggravates me so!!

To: Kitty Mittens; All

Thank You for those Thursday blessings.

Spent the morning driving up to Sacramento to a follow-up visit with one of my doctors. He’s the one who performed the bladder surgery to eliminate the cancer I had. A GREAT doctor and friend. He is an Air Force Academy graduate and is follow-up service was in the medical field. I made a set of wind chimes for him and he showed us a picture of them hanging in his back yard. He and his fellow doctors and surgical staff performed the surgery which made me “Cancer-Free”. I will always hold him as a dear friend.

Our afternoon produced a lazy afternoon. One of our grandson’s came over to our house after school which his normal situation. We pick him up from school while we await his mom or dad picking him up after work.

I can’t imagine not having our grandsons visiting with us. One is in 6th grade and the other is a senior in high school. The latter has begun the process of filing paper work for admission to West Point or Annapolis. Lots of paperwork needed to complete the process.

Greetings to All at Amy’s Place. I don’t post much lately but I do read a lot of info at FReeRepublic in the late hours of the day.

Blessings from me and Our Lord to each and everyone.

The Gift Of Light

August 23, 2013

Sir Christopher Wren designed and built more than 50 church buildings in London during the late 1600s. His design style had two prominent features—the first of which was sturdy, tall steeples. The second, however, was more profound. Wren was convinced that all of the windows in his churches must use clear glass as opposed to the stained glass so popular in churches of that era. In part, his reason for the clear glass is found in words attributed to him: “God’s greatest gift to man is light.” Allowing light to bathe people as they worshiped was, to Wren, a celebration of that gift.

In the Genesis account, on the first day of creation God made light (1:3). The light God created is even more than just a means by which to see. It’s a picture of what Christ brought when He entered this darkened world. In John 8:12, our Lord said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” To the follower of Christ, light is one of the great reminders of the character of our Savior and the quality of the life He has given us through His sacrifice on the cross.

Wren was right. God’s greatest gift to man is light—Jesus Christ, the Light of the world!

Creator God, I thank You that You spoke light
into the darkness of the universe, and I thank
You that You brought light into the darkness
of my heart through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus came to give light to a dark world.

Read: John 8:12-20

I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. —John 8:12

Glad you liked it.

UP DATE: walnut size tumor, only the 1 according to MRI. May have smaller ones trying to attach, hard to tell. Part of prayer answered, our preacher showed up 2 days ago with $200 for them, that will put some food and gas where it is needed.

Gotta work on that agnostic son, he has to come to terms with Jesus.

They have not told their son. It is a question of how much do you tell a 6th grader that is super smart, and has a tablet and access to a computer at a friends. Not much you can hide any more. And he needs the truth as much as he can understand so he can be a help, not the pain in the butt he usually is.

Gorgeous, Meg.....mmmmmm, makes me want some juicy strawberries sprinkled with sugar! I do love strawberries!
The flowers are so pretty, too. They would cheer anyone up. We have a sorta gloomy day out today but it starts out like that some and by noon, it could be scorching hot! We get so spoiled with AC that we don’t realize how hot and humid it is until we step outside. It nearly knocks you down. I’ve had breakfast but a dish of those strawberries would taste mighty good. Maybe I can pick up some IF I GO ANYWHERE!!! (which I haven’t planned on so far.) Have a happy day!!
