You’re right, I’ve never displayed a smiley face while weeding. LOL. I am done with that job for the day. Like Scarlett O’Hara said “Tomorrow...is another day!”.

Yes, I am also having trouble with FR since Sunday. I just tried to reply to your Dollar General post and was unable to.

I went to my first Dollar General a week ago with my wise Grama, who said I should get my gift wrapping paper there like she does. That was one of the things that really was a dollar.

I think I’d like to go back and look around there again.

Cheers

Hi, TCP! At the dollar store, I would buy 3 gift bags for a dollar, 3 bows for a dollar (the huge ones), and tissue (all different colors) 2 packages for a dollar. At Christmas time, I would buy Christmas boxes (pk of 6) for a dollar!

(The one we had here, in our little town closed three months ago, for lack of business. I loved that store!)

Until a week ago, I never bought anything at a dollar type store. Now I am a fan! Grama knows all the good stuff!

Image Conscious

August 20, 2013

When going through old family photos, my cousins and I joke about which physical characteristics we’ve inherited. We notice primarily the negative ones: short legs, crooked teeth, unruly cowlicks. All of us can easily identify in our ancestors our own least favorite body part. In addition to physical attributes, we also inherited character traits—some good, some not so good. But we don’t always pay as much attention to those.

According to my unscientific observations, people try all kinds of methods to overcome physical imperfections—exercise routines, weight-loss programs, makeup, hair coloring, cosmetic surgery. But instead of trying to overcome our character flaws, we tend to use them as an excuse for behaving badly. I suppose this is because changing our looks is easier than changing our character. But imagine how much better off we’d be if we put our energy into character development.

As God’s children, we’re not limited by our genetic makeup. We can surrender our flaws to Him and allow Him to fulfill the potential He had in mind when He created us as unique expressions of His love. The power of God’s Spirit and the life of God’s Son are at work in us, conforming us to His image (2 Cor. 3:18).

I know, Lord, that You’re more interested in the
condition of my heart than my outward appearance.
Please make me into the person You want me to be—
filled with kindness, patience, integrity, and love.
The Spirit develops in us the clear image of Christ.

Read: 2 Corinthians 3:1-3, 17-18

We all . . . are being transformed . . . by the Spirit of the Lord. —2 Corinthians 3:18

I love the Dollar General Store. In fact I love all the Dollar Stores, etc. Its fun just to walk through and see what all they have. I love some of their things! (they know me well....LOL.....as I pop in there a lot.) They have some pretty greeting cards, too. Sometimes when I need to get out of this house, I just drive down there and kill some time. And its very close. It would be good exercise to walk to but if I would buy anything, I would have to carry it home....LOL!

I have a lot to do today and must get busy. See ya’ll sometime later! /a good day to all/

FR is still having trouble because I know your picture must have had another type frame, instead of the white that showed up here. Maybe they’ll get it straightened out SOMETIME!! I hope they know whats going on and that they care....I wonder!

I have much to do today so I’ll see you all later sometime!! Its chilly in my house. This is the hardest time to have a comfortable temperature inside. I sure see fall outside though. I ran a couple of errands and need to get this kitchen and den straightened up. Would prefer not to do anything.....its just one of those days!! I do not plan to do a whole lot.....just straighten up a little so I can get a nap later on in the afternoon.

oh so sweet MEG. I have a dear friend that lives in Newfoundland that takes some of the best bird photos.
Did you take this one?

Love the bird. I feed sparrows my dried bread.
