But they are more open minded towards other Christians (they call them English). Sounds to me like legalism as it is as possible to sin vigorously without modern conveniences as it is with modern conveniences. They’d be better off using whatever is needed to glorify the Lord as the Lord provides it without putting an artificial limit on what He can provide. What Amish would ever preach the gospel on Facebook? But I do....

(Whatever promise that God has made, in Jesus it is yes. See my page.)

I must admits I find the Amish lifestyle more appealing than I would crammed into a small apartment in New York city.
Heck, even in Donald Trump's palatial multimillion $$$ penthouse apartment I would feel claustrophobic.
Like in the Old “Green Acres” comedy theme song:
Green acres is the place for me.
Faaaarm livin’ is the life for me.
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.
Call me provincial, call me hick or redneck but that's what I love.

I, too agree they take it the extreme but, I can imagine them argueing "That's the way to temptation and thus damnation"
Or foolish waste of time, which I must admit that is my vice.
One thing I absolutely don't understand and in fact, abhor is their "shunning"
I want to fight for a lost soul up until they take their last breathe. I don't "Get in their face" about it but gently remind them that Salvation awaits.
Buts that's just me.
