You really probably don’t know anyone who’s ever owned one, they’re sufficiently uncommon. Perfectly capable military rifle chambered in a suitably powerful cartridge of the time it was adopted for military service. I don’t know any reputable arms collectors who have negative opinions of the Mannlicher action.
Have you read the report used by the Warren Commission to evaluate the weapon and the ballistics?
An evaluation done by a USMC weapons expert who concluded it was a very serviceable weapon fully capable for what it was used for, and was used by the Italian military?
