Chanel is doing ok, i put the peepee pad in their room overnight, bc the lasix they have prescribed for eliminating the fluid in her lungs makes her pee alot. she has to take the lasix twice a day and elanapril, the heart med, once a day for now, and she goes back in 2 weeks to monitor how the meds are affecting her system etc. So yesterday, for the care of Chan, the scrips for her two meds, an xray of her chest, a heartworm test for each of Chan and Jules and heartworm meds for each of them, the bill was $1195. Is petmeds still in business? there was a flyer at the desk of the vet saying how the FDA has shut down many online pharmacies. Since she is going to be on the meds longterm i was going to refill them with PetMeds, bc that’s what i did with Loosh, since the vet is so much more for those things.
My wife gets the flea stuff for the pets online. I think it comes from someplace in Australia. So it’s probably illegal.
I can ask her if you want.
I use human pharmacies for my dog meds now. Kroger, Walmart, and Target since they are using human meds. I get heartworm meds by mail from Omaha Vaccine because they are about $10 less per dog that way. They fax the script to them and they call the local pharmacies for the other meds. I’m glad she did okay last night. That was a very stressful day for her and I can empathize with the outrageous expense.
My vet is way cheaper. Did the same stuff with our Missy, didn’t cost barely a fraction of that. About $100.00. Gees, what a rip off.
Target, Sam’s Club, and Walmart all sell pet medications much cheaper than the vet. In fact, my last vet sent me there, rather than carrying them herself.
