Weemsco Tuna!
Correction: Stuart Island, near Big Bay, not Read - that’s another tale of the Inside Passage...lol
I’m wondering how long it will take the Internet to Photoshop a kitten in place of the dolphin.
Great photos.
A few years ago, an Orca hunted and killed a Great White. In the Pacific near Gay Frisco. The youtube link below is similar to how the Dolphin became the main encore.

It was reported Great Whites left the N California area and headed south.
I avoid vacation/things like that for those reasons. The libs are bad enough. But when It dawned on me that the ‘tour guy’ probably laughed just as much at me over a few beers with his buds, I took a HUGE step to becoming a homebody.
Not that I blame them. Just don’t feel like funding it.
How is it that these animals don’t attack humans, or do they?
Well if you had knowledge of the reality of life except Disney...
Orca Tsunami
Coming Soon, from the makers of Sharknado
I was in the CG for years and most of my buds are fisherman and boaters. When you live on the water and make your living from the water Dolphin are just another fish and I have seen these libs in action.
If they saw these photos many would be on the phone, web, whatever to stop that type of atrocity.
I always enjoy seeing nature play out and then watch the libs, theres know one to blame and it just eats at them, and rightfully so.
LOL
I feel silly because I always believed that “Free Willy” Photoshop of a killer whale was laughably impossible because I didn’t believe one could jump like that.
“Mommie, this dolphin-free tuna just doesn’t taste the same (sniff).”
;^)
That is an amazing picture. The thought of an animal that large leaping that far out of the water blows my mind.
Usually ‘mishaps’ with Orca versus human are attributed to wetsuits making humans look like seals. That injury tends to be an orca ramming a surfboard or swimmer.
There was a captive orca who killed a trainer and swam with her body in his mouth and refused to release her until they got him onto a platform and raised him out of the water. However - any captive animal is bound to behave with extremes. Also a captive orca is believed to have breached and landed intentionally on a trainer - again believed to be aggression.
From the reports I’ve seen, most (if not all) killer whale attacks on humans involve captive whales.
Full speed for two hours? I'm no biologist or physicist, but an animal the size of an orca going full speed for two hours just to get one dolphin hardly sounds efficient. The orca may have burned more calories during the chase than the calories it consumed when it ate the dolphin.
for later
It’s a bad week to be a dolphin :)
I agree with the comment in the article that it appears they were playing with it for at least an hour. It seems they fatigued it enough that they could take turns chasing it so maybe they had little breaks?
The clip didn’t mention that the Great White was stalking the Orca’s baby, and the Orca just retaliated protecting it’s young one.
