The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis.
The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.
From Washington Post:
EXCERPT:
Royal baby is named George Alexander Louis
LONDON The bookies were right: He Who Had No Name is now Prince George.
His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, to be exact.
On Wednesday, that regal name was bestowed on Britains two-day old royal baby by his parents, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Although the thoroughly modern royal couple chose a thoroughly modern way to distribute the news, via Twitter, Prince George is as old-school as it gets.
No fewer than six British kings have borne the name George, with its personal symbolism for William making it an obvious pick for months in betting pools across this island nation. The last of the six was George VI, Williams great-grandfather, whose valiant battle with a speech impediment as he assumed the throne following his brothers abdication was dramatized in the Oscar-winning film The Kings Speech.

Howie Carr was hoping for “Prince Carlos Danger”.....*smirk
Well, some people were hoping he’d be named Trayvon...
However, I’m glad they named him after Washington.
He’s named after his great-grandad, the current Queen’s father. He of “The King’s Speech.” The one who didn’t want the throne.
makes buying new china less expensive when there are already 6 sets named George in the curio hutch.
Someone posted on FR yesterday that it would be funny if the royal couple named their baby - George.
This is hilarious!
I bet the Louis comes from his great uncle Louis Mountbatten, the last tiger of Indjah
Right now he resembles Winston Churchill.
ok, why did she look more pregnant now than before?
But every one will know him as Nancy.
Now they can say “That’s my GAL.”
I wondered that myself.
Initials are GAL - the boy is a GAL?
Sounds like gender confusion is inevitable... by the Queen signed off on gay marriage, so it’s all good. /sarc
Since Queen Elizabeth’s father was named George it was pretty obvious that was going to be the baby’s name..you can just hear leftists now “They named the baby after George Zimmerman” LOL you know it’s coming..poor Obama, he was hoping they would name the baby Trayvon after his hero, too bad. Congrats to the Royal Couple on the birth of their baby, It’s nice seeing life celebrated
The third set was pretty badly cracked.
Where’s his cigar?
typo: * “but” the Queen signed off...
