The radioactive fuel escaped containment and lies "somewhere" in the ground beneath each of the power plants. Not knowing where it is or what to do about it, Japan announced that it had achieved "cold shutdown" as if the fuel was under it's control and still in a containment vessel. Now steam is escaping from the remains of reactor 3. The only way for that to happen is if the radioactive fuel is once again hot enough to boil water. So a nuclear reaction hot enough to boil water is now taking place somewhere in the ground beneath reactor 3. Many people believe that Fukushima "was" a disaster that happened 2 years ago but in fact it has not ended (the end is not in sight) and continues to emit radiation freely into the environment and now a portion of the fuel is hot enough to boil water.

From the article: "Outside experts have long suspected that the damaged reactors are leaking water, because of the very high levels of radioactive caesium still being found in samples of fish taken near the plant."

And fish contaminated with Fukushima radiation were captured in San Diego 5 months after the tsunami and explosion at the nuclear power plant. All 15 of the 15 fish sampled had small amounts of the Fukushima contaminants and the plant has continued to release radiation for 2 years now.

The plant's operator recently admitted for the first time that radioactive water was still going into the sea.

The fools! Don't they realized that's how Godzilla was spawned??

IF ONLY they had the good sense to frantically search for more batteries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that should have been priority 1

if they had kept the thing on batteries until they could get a generator in, this would have been hailed as a success story of epic proportions (surviving BOTH an giant earthquake AND a a giant Tsunami on the same day)

We knew long ago that much more water was being dumped in than what was being collected out. Anyone with half a brain knew a long time ago that this contaminated water was going into the Ocean.
