“...a crow sat on his head on Wednesday. He immediately called up his mother and narrated the entire incident to her, expressing fears that it augured ill...”
More ill than taking poison? The logic is hard to understand.
“I think I’m going to have a bad thing happen, the crow on my head is an omen, so I’ll take some really painful poison to escape the, I don’t know what, ill, that this crow thing might mean”
? Crisis of mental illness here.
“...expressing fears that it augured ill.”
I’m not sure what you folks have against their beliefs. He WAS right ya know.
Funny, just today I saw a crow hopping around a puddle I was standing near - he was working up the courage to take a drink. Finally he got in (about 4 feet from me) and took several drinks - with a wary eye on me as I stood stock still. Cool to watch. Then he took off - right past me - his wing missing my cheek by a few inches!
It would have been really cool if it had landed on my head!
