I saw them perform this in Maryland the week after Kerry threw someone else’s medals over the fence in D.C. That must have been 1970. I attended the college themed riot (proudly :{) representing the University of Wisconsin) the following week and ended up clubbed and in a small hospital jail with Abby Hoffman (he was using the alias Peter Brown as he hadn’t been identified). I spent the next day in the RFK stadium with thousands of other detainees while trying to stay awake per doctors orders (due to the concussion) I wasn’t rioting but was caught up in a sweep and gratuitously clubbed...but I was there yet I did enjoy the Smithsonian during that same visit.

Brooker was always one of my favorite rock vocalists.

If you saw the movie “Evita” (yes, the one with Madonna), he makes a brief appearance, but the voice was unmistakable.

Also sang on one of my favorite Alan Parson’s Project songs, “Limelight.”

No way. Big bands of the 1930s and 40s. Good music. Clean music. The best music from the greatest generation.

She said there was no reason, but the truth was plain to see.

One of my favorite songs of all time. It’s haunting and very evocative. I’ll never forget it in the Summer of Lov, 1967. Would that the 1960s were always this charming and innocent.

High School senior prom, 1967.
Slow dancing with my prom date to this.

It was a long time ago.

That was awesome, Gotta bookmark it.

Don't know who I'll share it with, few people old enough to appreciate it.

Got 2 tickets to see the Moody Blues this fall, don't know who I'll share the 2nd ticket with...

Interesting tune. However, the lyrics don’t make sense.

Fantastic. He’s maintained that vocal texture throughout the years that make the song unmistakably a worthwhile listen even now. I hereby proclaim it a classic. Great job.

I spent the next day in the RFK stadium with thousands of other detainees

They got me at the Justice Department. When I heard the potential for mass shootings, I had hitchhiked to DC to see what I could see.

I was held in a stadium for the first few days without food or blankets and in time moved to a city jail, but I am pretty sure that the my arena or stadium had a roof on it, or at least it didn't rain.
