Sorry,I simply can see no more “gravitas” in Princess Whatever-Her-Name than I see in Chelsea Clinton. If I ever change my mind on this general subject I'll emigrate to Canada or Britain. My grandmother was a British subject when she was born. But her family, and the rest of my ancestors, left the British Isles for freedom.Unlike one of my uncles I do *not* hate Britain *or* their royal family. But I don't worship them either.Never have, never will.

Fully understand your reasoning but I’m not sure who is requiring you to’worship’ the British Royal Family.

Many, many Americans can trace their lineage back to Britain so it is understandable that more than a few would be interested in the birth of a child who, barring tragedy, will one day inherit the privileges and responsibilities of a throne propped up by a thousand years of history.

Make no mistake this no ordinary celebrity birth. You don’t have to care, you certainly don’t have to ‘worship’ anyone, but how sure are you that Kate hasn’t done a days work in her life? Because that could be construed as being quite mean spirited and, glancing at your previous posts, rather unlike you.

Nothing to do with worship, or freedom, and I think saying that is a very nutty distortion. England is our mother country and our ally. When she rejoices, we should at least smile.
